ERRIS HUIGENS

Erris Huigens, who lives and works in Wageningen (NL), presents his artistic practice under the name Deconstructie, focusing on site-specific works that explore the relationship between form, painting, and drawing in dialogue with the space in which they are produced and installed. His experimentation involves the deconstruction of existing systems and a minimalist visual expression. His works, often characterized by strict geometries, challenge conventional categorizations, placing themselves in a liminal state that encourages a rethinking of space and form.
During his visits to old abandoned buildings or industrial sites, Huigens creates murals and moves elements between his studio and the location, in a continuous exchange between context and artwork. Abandoned objects become subjects in his presentations, revealing a connection to graffiti subculture.
This practice creates a complex dialogue between geometric abstraction and the viewer’s experience, highlighting the invisible forces that shape our perception of space. His work has been exhibited in venues such as De Fabriek Eindhoven (NL), Park Tilburg (NL), Hangar 107 (FR), FF Projects (MX), and L21 Gallery (ES), among others.
